Claude Monet – National Gallery of Australia

On my very recent trip to Canberra (Australia’s capital), I visited the National Art Gallery to see the Renaissance Exhibition…

I thoroughly enjoyed this…

But this post is about a bonus ‘viewing’.

My SIL and I stood right in front of Claude Monet’s ‘Haystacks, Midday’.

This image courteosy of NGA.

It was amazing!!  The paint is so thick!!!! ..and the strokes, so tiny.  I discovered it all over again.

To view a real close up of this artwork visit the National Art Gallery.  It’s really worth it!
