Hi everyone! It’s great to be back for the One Four Challenge for May π
I hope you’ve been enjoying some time with your camera since last we met. I know I’ve been thoroughly enjoying our Autumn months since then and my blog is a testament to that, as it’s filled with Autumn leaves and colour and I’ve been spending plenty of time outside in the gorgeous weather.
Let’s have some One Four fun throughout May! All are welcome to join in. I do hope you’re feeling refreshed and enthusiastic about the challenge this month. Let’s go!
The challenge is running on the blog for Feb, May, Aug and Nov this year… We’ll meet quarterly on the blogs and in the Flickr group all year.

How it works: You can read all about it by clicking on the One Four Challenge page in the menu above or click here
Please do what suits you best and join in however and whenever you can.
Tags: Our tags for this year, wherever you post are #onefourchallenge and #onefour2016
About the challenge and how it works:
- This challenge is about processing 1 image in 4 different ways over 4 weeks OR taking 4 versions of an image at the time of shooting (eg. different settings, lens etc.).. and sharing them over the 4 weeks.
- We will allΒ process / post edit (our own chosen image) and share a different version each week.Β Process it however you likeβ¦ and tell us a bit about it. You donβt have to show the original image unless youβd like to.
- Try new things, experiment.Β Be as creative or subtle as you wish to be. All skill levels are welcome.
- Links to my blog are welcome.
My Image:
This month I’ve chosen an image that was a ‘split second’ image. Blink and you miss it!

This tiny (sugar?) ant was out having his morning drink in the first light of day. Snap! It really was a quick capture and I’m glad I got it.
As it was a quick shot, my composition picked up some details on the left side that kept drawing my eye, so I decided to crop a bit. (There is a great read about cropping on Rajiv’s blog.. thought provoking and makes you think about choices – check out the comments too). I wanted to bring the ant in a bit closer.
For this week I processed in LR and basically adjusted the light and shade in the image – but not too much for this week.
Over the next weeks, I’d like to bring back some detail and perhaps take a closer look at the little ant.
Now it’s over to you and I’m definitely looking forward to seeing your image and reading your post for this month.
Note: Did you know that Nik by Google is now available for free? There’s a link on my sidebar…(edit: and here is a video to show you how to access Nik.)Β

I am glad you mentioned the ant as at first glance all I saw was the flower. Looking forward to seeing your path for the weeks ahead.
