Seeing Differently Challenge – 6 of 15

Today I’m sharing my 6th image for this challenge.

On Saturday afternoon, at last light – the most amazing sea mist rolled inland. This is unusual, but with the sun going down, it was catching the rays and all the particles in the air. Wow!

I’m not sure if a camera can ever do justice to a scene like this, but I had to try  🙂

What made it really special, was a dear little visitor. A Willy Wagtail – one of my favourite little birds… He was flitting around catching all the bugs in the air…well, I’m sure he was hoping anyway!  What a wonderful scene. I’m so glad I was a part of it.

seeing-differently-6_800_robyngosby-2016I love watching the birds – we have so many here and they are wonderful. It’s not very often though, that I am quick enough to capture the moment. For me, all this moment needed was some fairy dust – actually if you look closely the little bugs are substituting for the fairy dust!

If this challenge (idea) appeals to you, please jump in. You are welcome 🙂 We will be exploring throughout October.

Time for a break..

Hello everyone 🙂

As I write this afternoon, I’ve decided it’s time for me to take a break away from the blog for a bit.. and get outside in the gorgeous winter sunshine.

I’m feeling the need to be able to create without the distractions of the screen presently.

Feels like Winter3 RobynGosby 2016

I will still being posting bits on Instagram, but won’t be on the blog or facebook much for a while.

The images in this post are some trees in my yard that are at various stages in these last days of Autumn.

I love the abstractions that the wind, light, colour and shadows have created.

Well, I’ll look forward to seeing you after my break.. and for the One Four Challenge on Monday the 1st August!

Note: I was going to change the blog feed, but decided against it after all. Everything should hopefully remain the same.

Thank you to all of you who leave comments, follow and visit 😀

What am I?

Yesterday I took myself outside to sit in the sun for a while, to soak up some warmth and sunshine… Just a very ordinary day in the scheme of things, but I do appreciate being able to take some time out.

I decided to take the camera and wander around, as there have been no photography adventures for me these past few weeks (with the flu) – but I wondered what I could find, if anything, in my own space.. I did! Well.. I think I did 😀 Ok, so it’s not the Taj Mahal, but I still think it’s interesting 😉

What am I RobynGosby 2016

I found this curious little pile of leaves and I couldn’t decide what it was.. a moth? mud? a pile of leaves? I had to have closer look.

Click for a closer view..

I’m imagining that it was probably the shelter for some type of spider.. I don’t know this for sure, but if you see the 2nd photo above there is some webbing on the leaf.. so I think perhaps a spider.

..and that’s it! My 5 mins of backyard

Maybe you know what this is – I’d be interested to hear. I suspect this poor tree might be housing a few tiny creatures.

One Four Challenge 2016 – May week 4

Hi everyone! Welcome to the 4th week of our challenge for May 🙂

I’m looking forward once again to your 4th edition (or if you’re like me this week – it could be your 5th or 6th!!) Please remember to tag, so we can find you in the Reader. Thanks 🙂

Some blogs are not showing in Reader this month – this happens occasionally, so leave a link here on my post, so others can find you.

This is our final week for May on the blogs – next time around (on the blog) will be August.  It seems so far away right now, but I bet it comes around very quickly and don’t forget the challenge goes on (at our own pace) on the Flickr group.

The challenge is running on the blog for Feb, May, Aug and Nov this year… We’ll meet quarterly on the blogs and in the Flickr group all year.

About the challenge and how it works:

  • This challenge is about processing 1 image in 4 different ways over 4 weeks OR taking 4 versions of an image at the time of shooting (eg. different settings, lens etc.).. and sharing them over the 4 weeks.
  • We will all  process / post edit (our own chosen image) and share a different version each week. Process it however you like… and tell us a bit about it. You don’t have to show the original image unless you’d like to.
  • Try new things, experiment.  Be as creative or subtle as you wish to be. All skill levels are welcome.
  • Links to my blog are welcome.

My Image:

I had no idea what to do this week, so I tried a few things and couldn’t really decide on 1 image, so I’m posting 3.  Let me know what you think.

I wanted to try a Black and White version of this image, but I really didn’t like anything I tried – I’ve put one in the gallery though, so you can see for yourself.  Then I opted for monotone and I think that worked better.  I also tried adding some of my own created textures and some cute Katie Pertiet butterfly brushes as well. I worked mainly in PS this week.

I think my preference is the 1st image – the light, airy one – add light and airy to my current phases, along with rosy pink!!

Do you have a preference from my Month of May?  Let me know in the comments section – I’d love to hear – thank you! I know, I should add a poll… lol..

Reminder: Nik by Google is now available for free. There’s a link on my sidebar…(edit: and here is a video to show you how to access Nik.)

So that’s it again for this week. Kind comments are welcome!
