Seeing Differently Challenge – 9 of 15

Today I’m sharing my 9th image of the seeing differently challenge.

Looking through.. to a new day

I ummed and ahhed as to whether this image was ‘seeing differentlly’. I felt that it was.

I realised, that when we are ‘looking through – to beyond’ – our eyes compensate and we probably don’t even know we are looking through. The lens sees differently! In a way, I think we become the spectator and the photographer all at once.

Seeing Differently Challenge – 7 of 15

Today I’m sharing the 7th image of the seeing differently challenge (hosted here)  🙂

On Sunday morning I was walking past my dear doggie having a drink and when she stepped back, the moving reflections caught my eye! I put the water on the floor, by splashing around in her dish..hehe… I love being in observation mode – you see the most unlikely things.

Here’s what I saw..

A very ordinary thing, becomes interesting when seen in a different way.  I know.. it’s still just a dog dish  😉

For these images, the reflections disappeared when focusing on the water. To capture the reflections I needed to change my focal point.

One Four Challenge 2016 – August Week 4

Good morning All!

I finally made it – I should have posted yesterday, but I’ve been feeling out of sorts with some fluey/cold thing and it’s slowed me right down.

I’m here today though 😀

So here we are in our last week of the challenge for August and once again the month seems to have flown right by. Let’s go!

The challenge is hosted here on the blog throughout the year in Feb, May, Aug and Nov and… in the Flickr group all year.

About the challenge and how it works:

  • This challenge is about processing 1 image in 4 different ways over 4 weeks OR taking 4 versions of an image at the time of shooting (eg. different settings, lens etc.).. and sharing them over the 4 weeks.
  • We will all  process / post edit (our own chosen image) and share a different version each week. Process it however you like… and tell us a bit about it. You don’t have to show the original image unless you’d like to.
  • Try new things, experiment.  Be as creative or subtle as you wish to be. All skill levels are welcome.
  • Links to my blog are welcome.

My Image:

I haven’t had much in the way of creative thinking this week, due to feeling unwell, but here’s what I came up with anyway.

Chillis on Cloth_Wk4_RobynGosby 2016

Once again I wasn’t sure what to do… so this week I took the image into Photoshop and added a texture layer and a pink gradient. I then messed around with blend modes and added some contrast.

This is where I left it, but personally I feel the image is unfinished, so I’d be curious to know your thoughts.

I began with my week 1 image again.

Here are last three week’s images again also:

Well that’s it from me – now over to you and your image:

Looking forward to seeing everyone’s efforts again for this final week of August.

Have a great one!!
