Behind the Scenes – April 2017

April has been such a different month for me, behind the scenes…

Where I made an effort to get outside after the heat, in March – April surprised us with an elderly family member having a pretty big health scare, so it’s been very much an inside kind of month. In the hospital. In the car. Inside. Mostly.

We are thankful though, that things are progressing well.

I grabbed moments within this month, to try and think outside the usual and once again to try and see what was in front of me… on any given day.

So… my Behind the Scenes this month is quite unusual, in that it’s a big mix… and most things I’ve photographed have been Still Life of some sort, with a few outside exceptions.

Here’s what I’ve seen this past month..

Anything was up for consideration… even an ‘Un-wanted still life’ series.. ha ha!

..and..

‘el’

I’d love to know if you can guess what this is (above).. Maybe you’ll guess straight away!

…more experiments, play and creating with the little truck.. A fun little subject!!

Some actual Still Life images…

A view through a window of Sydney city in the distance.. a phone capture..

A day outside (see below).. A really beautiful contrasty Autumn day – again, captured with the phone.

..and a look at a beautiful rose.. at different stages..

Well that’s it from me for April’s Behind the Scenes… A brief and random overview, plus I’m linking up to Max’s Changing Seasons..

I do hope April has been a great month for you… it’s almost done… already!!

Take care and see you soon,

Robyn xx

Country Morning..

February has been such a hot month in Australia – in fact I think it’s the hottest on record since the 1800s.. OR simply the hottest on record.

This means lots of ‘not being outside’.. just way too hot. It’s been a survival and hibernating month so far. Today is another hot one…

This morning though, was gorgeous!  A touch of cool in the air.. So pleasant and a good time to be out, before the heat of the day.

Here’s what I saw..

An overview of the beautiful cool, early morning..

I haven’t been posting much this year, but as the weather cools I hope to be sharing more of what I’m seeing…

Hope you’re having a great year so far!

Seeing Differently Challenge – 11 of 15

Today I’m sharing my 11th image of the seeing differently challenge.

After the frost..
Morning sunrise… after the frost..

Last week we had a white frost.

I always enjoy looking at the white covering and how it changes everything.  This image was taken as the frost was disappearing in the sunlight and still holding on in some of the shadows.

When I was capturing this image, I envisioned it as B&W (I shot in colour), but surprisingly, I liked it better in it’s morning monochrome, with hints of gold and green.

Squint to see the patterns 🙂

I’m amazed that October is flying by.. and I have yet to find 4 more images. I hope you’ve been enjoying exploring seeing differently.

If this challenge (idea) appeals to you, please jump in. You are welcome!  Even though we are on the home run, some folks are going to share a gallery after they find their images.. Looking forward to seeing them 🙂

Seeing Differently Challenge – 9 of 15

Today I’m sharing my 9th image of the seeing differently challenge.

Looking through.. to a new day

I ummed and ahhed as to whether this image was ‘seeing differentlly’. I felt that it was.

I realised, that when we are ‘looking through – to beyond’ – our eyes compensate and we probably don’t even know we are looking through. The lens sees differently! In a way, I think we become the spectator and the photographer all at once.

If this challenge (idea) appeals to you, please jump in. You are welcome!  We will be exploring throughout October and we are halfway there!
